BLACKBURN-FURROW GOLF CLUBHOUSE

March 27, 2018, marked the celebration of a much-anticipated event for Tennessee Athletics, as the groundbreaking ceremony for the Blackburn-Furrow Golf Clubhouse took place at the Mack & Jonnie Day Golf Practice Facility along the south bank of the Tennessee River.

Construction on the state-of-the-art clubhouse—which will serve as a permanent headquarters for Tennessee’s men’s and women’s golf programs—began later that week, with a targeted completion set for winter of 2018-19.

The approximately 8,300-square-foot Blackburn-Furrow Golf Clubhouse will feature a 1,000-square-foot hitting bay with swing analysis technology and video capabilities. The facility also will house team locker rooms and meeting areas, a team lounge and coaches’ offices. There will also be more than 1,200 square feet of outdoor deck and patio space for recruiting and entertaining.

The Blackburn-Furrow Golf Clubhouse provides immediate access to the Mack & Jonnie Day Golf Practice Facility, a 28-acre, $4.5 million layout that is one of the finest in the nation. The practice course—situated on one of Knoxville’s most scenic stretches of land—opened in November 2010 and was designed by the Greg Norman Golf Design Group.
